Mardi Gras Themed Ladies Night Out a Success!
The Schools of Saint Mary hosted another successful Ladies Night Out fundraiser on Thursday, Feb. 16 at The Inn at New Hyde Park. It was the first time the annual fundraising event was organized jointly by Saint Mary’s Elementary School and Saint Mary’s High School. Over 300 ladies from the St. Mary’s community, including mothers, aunts, grandmothers, family friends, past parents and alumnae all enjoyed the “Mardi Gras”-themed celebration, which included dinner, cocktails, music and raffles. The evening’s festivities also included a fashion show featuring students from the High School and teachers from the Elementary School. Administrators and faculty members from both schools attended the fundraiser, as well as Father Robert Romeo, pastor of the Church of Saint Mary, and Father Jiha Lim, parochial vicar and chaplain of The Schools of Saint Mary. “You would not be a Catholic school without the presence of spirituality, of faith and religion,” Father Bob told those in attendance, adding during grace, “we ask, God, for your blessing on The Schools of St. Mary, upon our wonderful faculty and staff and students, that we continue to journey to your love. We give thanks for this meal and for this night of enjoyment.” Ladies Night Out was a chance for members of both the Elementary School and High School communities to mingle and have fun, all while supporting the education of St. Mary’s students. Thanks to everyone who turned out and made this year’s fundraiser a resounding success!
