Scholar Programs

Scholar Service Institute

The Saint Mary’s Scholar Service Institute (SSI) is a unique, demanding three-year program where students explore and expand their leadership skills, voluntarily serve others, and experience a college environment. Students are invited to participate based upon a demonstrated commitment to academics and service. Under the direction of a full-time faculty member, students receive personal attention and direction.

Students frequently highlight their SSI experiences on college applications and during interviews. The unique combination of service learning and leadership training make SSI a defining experience for student scholars.
